Philip Stein Prestige Automatic Gents Watch - A Watch or a Small Clock?

When I looked at the picture in which the watch is stripped out of the strap (as presented), I couldn’t help but question, is it a watch or a clock? Of course it is a watch. It just looked a little like the old clock in my house. Well, this is the new Philip Stein Prestige Automatic Gents Watch from, a timepiece with wonderful architecture and excellent craftsmanship. Let’s take a look together.

I have to credit its clock-like look to its two dial displays which are capsulated in a cushion shaped case. The upper dial features large Arabic numerals as the hour markers and a circling scale indicated by smaller Arabic numerals every five intervals. The hours, minutes, and seconds functions are indicated by three central hands while a large date exhibition is displayed at six o’clock. The brand’s logo, Philip Stein, is embossed below the 11, 12 and 1 o’clock. The lower dial is a little bit smaller than the upper one. It takes care of the second time zone through three centralized moving hands. The indexes are designed in strips with the 6 and 12 o’clock in Arabic numerals. All hands in the two dials are luminescent and rimmed with PVD-coated steel in rose gold. The two-dial design is quite a wonderful structure. Do you think so?

The case is made of polished stainless steel. It features two crowns at each of the three o’clock position of the two dials. Inside the case is a hidden thin metal plate which would interact with the human bio-field when the timepiece is worn on the wrist.

The movement of the Philip Stein Prestige Automatic Gents Watch is a self-winding ETA 2671 one and the strap of the timepiece is made of crocodile leather in brown with a pin buckle.

Overall, the new model from Philip Stein displays a unique look among the sea of luxury watches.
